The Ark is the place of salvation of the soul of a living creature, its tranquility and peace. It’s zen. For each of us this place would be different, but for Stepan Polezhaev, an actor of the Arkhangelsk Youth Theater and many-sided talented person, this is Savinsky village in the Arkhangelsk Region. A place where time has stopped and at the same time flows like water along the Shelex and Yemtsa Rivers.
Yesterday the exhibition of Stephan’s photos made in this village was opened in the library named after N.A. Dobrolubov.
The mood of the works is very romantic, airy and simple. Each of photos – black and white with a predominance of gray, green or brown tones – evokes mixed emotions and feelings: tenderness, sadness, nostalgia, calmness. Love. Kinship with the place and people. Unity. Significance. Looking at them, you recall your childhood in the countryside or your long-lasting wish to escape from the hustle & bustle of the city into the serenity and prosperity of the bosom of nature and life in its surroundings. And in the end, you understand that there is nothing more important than these precious moments of peace and unity with yourself, your family and the Earth.
